Dear valued readers,
Over the past week, we have received numerous concerns from students about the safety of the campus community. We at The Miscellany News recognize the importance of creating a space for the Vassar community to discuss those issues most important to them in our Opinions section. However, given the recent increase of student safety concerns brought to us, we must weigh this mission with the safety of our campus community, which is ultimately our highest priority. The Executive Board of The Miscellany News has decided to remove three Letters to the Editor from our website in response to these concerns and in accordance with our submission policy. We have concluded that our Opinions section has not been an effective space for respectful and constructive discussions about the Israel-Palestine conflict, and we will evaluate future submissions on this topic very carefully. We encourage the administration and faculty, as they have been doing, to create more spaces for the campus community to express their perspectives and emotions about the ongoing conflict.
Signed,
The Miscellany News Executive Board
